About Veronica
Veronica Valderrama is the Founder and Principal of En Pointe Far South Coast Dance Centre and brings a wealth of international professional experience to her role as a dance educator. Born in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Veronica began dancing at the age of six and was accepted into the prestigious Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón at just fifteen years of age, where she undertook her professional ballet training.
Her performing career saw her dance with the Teatro Colón Ballet Company before moving to Mexico in 1997 to join the National Ballet Company in Mexico City. Over the next twelve years, Veronica performed an extensive classical and contemporary repertoire throughout Mexico and internationally, building a successful career as a professional dancer.
In 2009, Veronica relocated to Australia with her family and settled on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. Passionate about sharing her love of dance with regional communities, she began teaching ballet locally, establishing a small dance class with just six students. In 2016, this vision became En Pointe Far South Coast Dance Centre, which has since grown into a thriving dance school supporting around 80 students from across the region.
Alongside her work in ballet, Veronica also explored her Spanish heritage through flamenco, embracing the art form as a powerful expression of music, culture and movement. For many years she taught flamenco throughout the Bega Valley, combining her professional ballet background with the rich traditions of Spanish dance. This chapter of her artistic journey was featured in the 2015 documentary Connecting with the Earth.
Committed to lifelong learning and excellence in dance education, Veronica completed the Professional Dancers’ Postgraduate Teaching Certificate with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in 2019. This internationally recognised qualification further strengthened her teaching practice and reinforced her commitment to providing high-quality ballet training for children and young people in regional Australia. Today, the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus remains central to her teaching philosophy, offering students a structured, supportive and inspiring pathway for development.
With more than two decades of professional performance experience and many years as a dedicated teacher, Veronica is passionate about nurturing not only strong technical skills, but also artistry, musicality, confidence and creativity. She believes dance is a powerful form of expression and an important part of a vibrant community, providing people of all ages with opportunities to connect, grow, build confidence and experience the many physical, emotional and social benefits that dance can bring.
Under Veronica’s guidance, En Pointe Far South Coast Dance Centre has become a warm and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to enjoy the journey, embrace their individuality and achieve their personal best. Her goal is not simply to develop dancers, but to create a space where people feel inspired, supported and part of something meaningful.
